Behind this name sounding like a invitation to space exploration you can find Daniel Offermann, known for his bass playing and mad dancing with belgian band Girls in Hawaii.
To cut a long story short Daniel has another band, Hallo Kosmo, something more electronic than Girls in Hawaii and mainly sung in German as Daniel is one of these few german speaking Belgians – they are about 70;000 I think, he is still living in Eupen, capital of the german community of Belgium.
Daniel has composed and recorded this album on his laptop at home or on the road with the Girls. In march 2005, during the Eupen Carnival, as his mixes were nearly finished, an asshole broke into his place and stole his computer, Daniel had no back up at all, apart from a few burned CDs … These were just the “Stolen Songs at Carnival” but it needs much more to get Daniel depressed.
After this sad event Daniel decided that this was made to be so and that this record would remain just as it was. Well not really because after that Daniel did record a few extra songs with the help of the Girls and other friends.
And you ask yourself: yes but how does it sound like ? Like a beautiful mess ! Electro, hip hop and popsongs that are much closer to nice weird folks as Why? than to Rammstein (which must surely be nice folks too)... Sometimes it can remind you of early DAF, it is true that it is mostly sung in German…
On stage, Hallo Kosmo is a four piece comprising Daniel singing and doublebass/guitar playing (and strange dancing of course!), Denis of Girls in Hawaii on drums and Fabrice (bass & guitar) and Enzo (keys & machines) of Austin Lace.
